Guiding Tenets

This post attempts to summarize the guidelines I use in forming my opinions.  This list will be added to as I discover tenets.  There is no order to my list.  Maybe an order will eventually present itself, but for now I’m just trying to capture them.

  • Study the data to form an opinion
  • Don’t cherry pick the data
  • Don’t be afraid to change your opinion when new data is presented
  • Don’t make a change and expect to reach ideal conditions
    • Expect to iterate to reach the solution
  • Don’t be afraid of the ideas of others
  • Recognize and challenge your own biases
